Boeing Commercial Airplanes 2016 First-Half Highlights

July 27, 2016 in Commercial

The first half of 2016 saw important milestones for Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

The 737 MAX had its first flight and announced it is on track to deliver by the second quarter of 2017.

As the presidents of the United States and Vietnam looked on, Boeing joined Vietjet in signing the largest commercial airplane purchase in Vietnam’s history – for 100 737 MAX 200s.

The 787 program achieved a 12-per-month delivery rate, setting a new Boeing and industry standard for twin-aisle production.

And the grand opening of the Composite Wing Center in Everett, Wash., ushered in a new era of composite technology for Boeing and marked a critical step in development of the 777X.
